See how a pro identifies recurring patterns on film

This is a quick example of the kind of match detail The Footage Lab looks for in every player review. This is not isolated highlights, but patterns that shape real performance.

Almost every youth soccer club has pro-grade cameras filming matches. However, shifting that focus from team tactics to individual development takes time most coaches simply don't have.

I provide the objective breakdown that complements club training, showing exactly how your player performs in real games, what’s working, and what matters next.

I work with dedicated youth players (U9–U17) and deliver a multi-game diagnostic with clear development priorities from a former professional player.

Parent Testimonial

“We started working with Rhett after a suggestion from our son's ECNL coach on how to take his game to the next level. Technical ability is important, but combining that with understanding body and on-field positioning, space in relation to teammates and opposition, as well as where he could make better decisions on the field, has been hugely impactful.

Rhett's attention to detail with the video playback and direct feedback is absolutely amazing. After working with Rhett during a single session, we saw immediate and impactful changes at our son's very next game. The one-on-one coaching and support has been key to understanding what in his game could be improved, which includes a high level of tactical understanding and technical feedback.

We look forward to the continued partnership and only wish we started this level of support sooner.”

I started my soccer journey at Nomads in San Diego, where we won a national championship at U14. Three of my teammates were selected for the U.S. National Team residency in Bradenton. I wasn't one of them. So I sent out 100+ VHS tapes to college coaches until someone gave me a shot.

One of those tapes landed at Brown University, where I'd go on to play under Mike Noonan, one of the top NCAA D1 coaches. During my time there, I was a 2x nominee for the Hermann Trophy, awarded to the best player in college soccer.

After Brown, I went on to play professionally for 8 years, starting in Norway with Mjøndalen IF. I was the team's top scorer (as a Center Back) in the 2015 Tippeligaen (Premier League) season. During my years in Norway, I also coached the club's U16 and U19 academies to regional championships.

Later, I moved to Miami FC, where I won an NASL Championship playing under Alessandro Nesta, one of the greatest defenders in history. There were nuances I didn't truly grasp until I learned from him: how to shape your body defensively, the exact timing of when to step versus when to hold. These are the invisible decisions that separate good players from elite ones.

I built The Footage Lab because I wish I'd had this resource during my own development.

Your Player's Professional Diagnostic

I analyze 4–6 full games to find the patterns that define ceiling and consistency, then show you exactly what I see.

This is not a highlight reel. It is an honest, position-specific evaluation based on patterns across multiple matches.

01. The Video Breakdown

I personally tag 20–30 key moments across 4–6 matches, with visuals and voiceover to explain exactly what a pro sees and why it matters.

02. The Pro Scouting Report

A comprehensive Player Scorecard with specific attributes based on position, role, and age, ensuring that defenders, midfielders, and attackers are evaluated differently.

Assessment Summary

Striker. Scored two important goals. High energy, strong work rate, solid presence on both ends. Good instinct for attacking spaces and willing to engage physically. Needs to improve technical consistency and movement off the ball.

  • Offside awareness: Get back onside early when opposing team kicks the ball long.
